““An unexamined life is not worth living.” - Socrates
This conversation with Dorian Yates makes me thankful for the internet. As a six-times Mr Olympia, Dorian was the best bodybuilder in the world for a significant period of time and is still regarded today as one of the greatest sportsmen in that field.
When you listen to him, you are immediately blown away by the humility and wisdom this man possesses. It’s clear achieving mastery in that one field in his life has transferred to other areas. It’s also clear that he also had to overcome the difficulties, insecurities and challenges that we are all plagued with. A much more spiritual and chilled out version now, he shares his wisdom on how to be the best at what you want to do and how to live an amazing life.

Maria is a journalist turned professional poker player - and her journey is an interesting story of an amateur diving deep into a new field and, through deep understanding and work, finds she can perform at levels of mastery. This was a fantastic blog post, and one of my favourites. It gives a bird’s eye view of the path of computing and AI (Artificial Intelligence) and how we are inescapably on this path to “Superintelligence”. Sure, AI can be scary. But this is also a magical time, and it has the potential powers to create a new kind of world, one in which all can participate more freely and equally.
With fun illustrations and simple language, you will end up revering the author’s ability to break this complex subject down (and many others) and make it an enticing educational read to just about anyone.
While a few months old, this piece is still an excellent piece of journalism, highlighting the largely orchestrated political tool we have all been experiencing, covid-19. With clear, well-referenced evidence, you’ll see how we have been duped by the authorities.
This pandemic has been used as a ploy and the working-class man suffers, i.e. all of us who still have to work for a living. Lack of leadership abounds, and the severe deficit in trust and actual knowledge of the virus and disease has resulted in a state of fear, confusion and helplessness across the world. We know we are being fooled, the question is, by how much? We know we are being manipulated, the question is, to what extent?
